Dr. Gupta is a leading pediatric and adolescent endocrinologist. He earned his MBBS from Government Medical College, Patiala, and his MD in Pediatrics from SAIMS, Indore. He then specialized in Pediatric Endocrinology through training at Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr. Gupta has served as a consultant pediatric endocrinologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and now leads the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana.

Dedicated to his field, Dr. Gupta is a founding member of the ISPAE diabetes registry and a national expert in diabetes education. He contributed to developing national guidelines for managing childhood obesity and has authored numerous publications in his specialty.

Deals with the following conditions in children from 0 to 18 years of age: 

  • Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes mellitus, Monogenic Diabetes in children. Comprehensive care is provided with multiple counseling sessions to educate about insulin administration, sick day management, and carbohydrate counting. Use of the latest technologies like CGMS and insulin pumps.
  • Hypoglycaemia / Hypocalcaemia / Hypomagnesaemia.
  • Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders.
  • Growth disorders – including short/tall stature, obesity and failure to thrive.
  • Metabolic bone Diseases – Rickets, Osteopetrosis, Osteogenesis imperfection, Osteoporosis, Skeletal dysplasia.
  • Ambiguous genitals and Adrenal disorders
  • Pubertal disorders like precocious/delayed puberty, pubertal arrest, primary/secondary amenorrhea, and PCOD.
  • Endocrine malignancies like craniopharyngioma. neuroendocrine tumours, etc
  • Endocrine causes of Hypertension and polyuria.
  • Endocrine consequences of chronic systemic illness – like Thalassemia, post- chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
